We started out in 2005
with the help of Betty Cory of Wolfmoon Ranch. Since that
time the herd has increased, and we've all learned a lot about
raising goats. We are constantly trying to improve upon
what we have to try and breed a better animal.
We are on the Federal
Scrapie Program, IDX517. We are hoping to test for CAE, and
Johnes this year, and maintain a negative status.
Our does and bucks receive
yearly CD/T boosters, and twice yearly BO-SE boosters as we live
in a Selenium deficient area. Kids receive CD/T and BO-SE at 6
weeks or earlier if needed. Free choice loose minerals are
available at all times. We add ACV to the water to help
balance body Ph, the goats love it!
Worming is done as needed. We use whole garlic to ward off
infestations. Chemical wormers will
be used in severe cases.
We do not worm, or use anti-biotics on market animals unless
needed.
